EV Charger FAQs
People say electric cars are not a sustainable option. Why should I replace my car with an electric vehicle?
Electric vehicles are cheaper to run, need less maintenance and reduce fossil fuel emissions. If you have solar panels and a place to charge your car, you can run your vehicle on energy from the sun saving money and the environment.
How long will it take to charge my electric car?
This can be between 30 minutes and 12 hours depending on the size of the battery. The average vehicle takes around 8 hours to charge.
Which electric vehicle should I choose?
This will depend on your usage. It is important to consider the range of the vehicle. Our installers can help to advise you, but it’s well worth doing some research before choosing the right electric vehicle for you.
Are there different types of EV charge point?
Yes, it is essentail to have the right type of charger for your vehicle. The North American Charging Standard (NACS) is exclusive to Tesla, whereas the Coimbined Charging System (CCS) is suitable for most other electric vehicles, plus the CHAdeMO whick is compatible with Nissan Leafs. Malvern Solar will be happy to advise you and to look for a good deal for your equipment.
